Men's Jewelry
65Men's jewelry is ugly, plain and simple. Now there are a few exceptions to the rule, such as watches, wedding rings, and cufflinks. That is about it. I don't mean to discriminate against men; in fact that isn't the idea at all. It's simply that men's jewelry is bulky, shiny, and just plain ugly. In addition to the jewelry itself being atrocious, most men seem to forget that bigger, more expensive and shiner doesn't make them the better man.
Necklaces: Now, I'm not sure if it is simply a test of the male pride or testosterone speaking, but bigger isn't better. One necklace can be okay if done tastefully, like a simple silver chain or a thin slice of leather. A three inch by four inch scorpion around your neck is not tasteful. It doesn't scream "I'm a man". What it does say, loud and clear might I add, is that this man has no sense of fashion and probably thought it made him look tough and sexy. Well tough guy, people aren't staring at you because you resemble Achilles from the movie Troy, they are staring at you to make sure your necklace doesn't come to life and attack them!
Earrings: A stud is okay if left alone, like a simple silver stud or even a small diamond. A dangling cross is not classy and should never be worn; except of course if you are going to a themed 80's/early 90's party. But if you are indeed going to such a party you need to wear a leather jacket and dance primarily to Wham and George Michael songs.
Bracelets: I don't even wear them. They clank against everything and get stuck in your arm hair. What is the point?
So to conclude this style critic let me just say this. There have been two men to ever cause me to throw out these rules; Johnny Depp and Dave Navarro. These men are prettier than most women I know, so cheers to them and their array of layered jewelry.

This is great abowie!
nice hub
Couldn't agree more. Nothing's more of a turn-off than a resemblance to Mr. T.
I agree with you--I just sort of realized this when I was looking thru Father's day ads recently. Those huge rings that say DAD in gold, set in faux onyx are horrific!
I have to agree with you 100% on this one. I love my watch and cuff links, but I can't wear any other type of jewelry. I am not married, so I don't have to worry about wearing a ring.
I just love that necklace, I actually have something similar to that and I'm interested to find the stylish men's necklace.
You would need to know something about fashion to pull off mens jewelry. If done right, it looks great. Even when its worn in abundance.
